About the Project
The Delaware Equitable Hiring Initiative is designed to bring together local businesses and community-based organizations to expand fair access to promising job opportunities — strengthening the local workforce and economy.
Why Equitable Hiring Matters:
As a result of automated screening processes, stigma, and lack of access to skills training or credentials, many members of our community remain effectively hidden from most employers.
With only 63 available workers for every 100 open jobs in Delaware — businesses are missing out on the vast potential of this skilled, often overlooked talent pool.
Employers receive professional training on effective hiring solutions, tailored guidance, and ongoing technical assistance from subject matter experts.
Access Training & Customized Support
Our community-based organization (CBO) partners help source and empower overlooked job seekers with job readiness training and support services.
Expand Your Talent Pool

Helping businesses create meaningful employment pathways for underrepresented individuals, including veterans, caretakers, justice-impacted individuals, people with disabilities, and more — particularly in 19801, 19802, 19805.
Unlocking Growth & Empowering Our Communities
Increasing workforce participation among marginalized groups supports broader economic development and reduces unemployment.
Breaking Barriers
The initiative focuses on providing all job seekers with fair and equal access to job opportunities, career training, and long-term support.
Shrinking Skills Gaps
The goal is to develop lasting career opportunities. CBOs help connect candidates to mentorship programs and career advancement resources, supporting long-term success.
